so i know everyone is using that little pixel character thing to make a pixel person of themselves but i was like ‘what if i tried doing a few characters’ and i accidentally………… yeah

when all you’re known for is being a weird awkward loner that lives in a methane swamp, and the most positive thing people can say about you is that your older sister was pretty cool when she wasn’t dead, and your name is literally the equivalent of someone being named ‘human’, i guess its kinda hard to not be a weirdo
triton’s known for being a mass murderer so i mean at least he understands it (somewhat)
i doodled some 19 stuff while procrastinating on other art that i was drawing while procrastinating on art homework
i haven’t done lineless in like 2 years or something but i like practicing shading and coloring ok

this was really difficult, apparently i never drew out Prototype-Rumi except for that one drawing there… she’s just basically had the same design. And mostly the same personality! Her backstory has changed a bit but Heh I’m not getting into that
as that one little text thing says, it was originally a completely different story, their whole world was barely developed, the ENTIRE story took place in the ‘real world’ and it was really really short. I ended up developing their world way too much and now most of the story takes place there and its just kind of a bit confusing and there’s like three different plot lines going on and basically if it was made into a movie it’d be a terrible movie that’s all i can say
rumi’s original design got kind of redone into one of the other leapers, one of the princesses of a nearby empire (there’s like….. 10 different empires in their world and almost all of them have female leapers) who doesn’t show up in the ‘first book’ but is a major character in the second one on

WELL I SHOULD HAVE EXPECTED THIS TO BE THE ASK I’D GET…
The thing with Flynn is that originally he wasn’t gonna exist. The earliest idea i had (which was basically what i thought up as i fell asleep after drawing Enzo and Lorcan for the first time) was for a Prototype-Lorcan to meet a Prototype-Enzo, who then marries Prototype-Lorcan’s sister, Prototype-Aisling. REALLY WEIRD. also, after a few years of being in the states, Prototype-Enzo’s older brother visits from overseas and is a big grump and so he was basically a sort of Prototype-Flynn. EVEN MORE WEIRD.
But anyway, I very quickly realized I didn’t want such a grumpy asshole for a main character in Prototype-Lorcan, so he instead became more like he is now, and I recycled the angry traits into Flynn (and took the grumpy brother idea too). Since he became Flynn, his design and story hasn’t changed much. I guess personality wise he went from being just grumpy to being pretty complex, but I can’t remember how early on that started hahaha… still, I often joke that he’s got so many negative personality traits and character flaws that he’d almost be a better villain than anything. I admit, I kind of love to add on to his bad behavior and find new ways for him to be a snarky douchebag to everyone but himself and Liam. So I guess the thing that’s changed is that he got worse. HOW POSITIVE
p.s. the first picture there is Prototype-Enzo with Prototype-Lorcan, the second picture was when Flynn finally became his own character (I’m laughing that it looks like he’s coming out of the side of Lorcan there, its a pretty literal example of what happened…), and the guy underneath them is Prototype-Riley. Also the ink drawing is something I didn’t post (yet?) but its from a weird sorta nightmare where 19 sorta kinda got turned into a play and Flynn was played by a middle aged fat and balding white guy with an afro and a mullet. Enzo was even better… okay maybe I’ll just post that page later because its really great. AND I HAD A SEQUEL LAST NIGHT TOO….
now just don’t ask me about dar or celeste its even more complicated
i found a lot of old art i never posted for various reasons
most of this PROBABLY belongs on the sketchblog but until i post regularly again (probably never) i’m using that mainly for stuff thats too gay for this blog (plus its my sketchblog i can decide whats sketchblog worthy and whats not??)
